Some things which I noticed in Medium
I wish the writing scene were able to share their experiences on a fair light. Maybe because I was blinded or emotionally moved beyond a writer’s way of telling their story, or wonder on how magically their words seem to perfectly fit. Like wizards, my favourite writers make writing flawlessly easy as though that they could conjure any image into our minds with their words.
A possible way of mind heist, which resembles the movie Inception that I’ll probably write about soon.
Anyway, here are some of the lessons I found in Medium:
- Inspirational thoughts are fleeting, yet they are everywhere. They have a very short lifespan and quickly fizzles once you decide to act on them. Sometimes, the moment you decide to jot them down, it loses its magic and you don’t seem to find the idea as appealing as before and quickly dismisses them.
- I love this vomit and clean up approach. One good thing about quickly dumping your brains out minimises stalling time. Your mind is like a Ferrari once you hit the pedal. You wouldn’t want to pull the handbrake lest you lose your momentum.
- Some titles are attention grabbing and never fail to hit me. Like a one-two jab followed by a hook, I see some creative ways how writers are using the main title and sub, such as e.g. Writing is easy: is it tough?
- Your writing changes or veer off from the main topic. I started off with What I loved about Medium, but decided to tone it down a notch. But you get my point. The main title only serves as a guidepost. Amend the main title and see point 3.
- This point is something which I realised as an internal observation. My attention are mostly short lived, or maybe I need to consider meditation as part of my routine. One thing I noticed is that I don’t read the entire article if it doesn’t connect with me. For that, I adopt a 30-second “preview”. If I liked what I read, I’ll probably stay around.
What do you think? Let me know…
