When it comes to educating others, there are various teaching methods to offer aid. This comes as a fact that human beings are dynamic creatures. Every person has their own temperament and personality, each one experiencing a unique set of circumstance revolving within their own environment.

To settle on a “tried-and-tested” method is difficult considering the myriad of scenarios that can unfold.

In this post, I touch on the factors that may help us to learn from one another and hopefully, improve our relationships.

“If you make a mistake and do not correct it, this is called a mistake.”

— Confucius

To dispense advice is to render assistance, period.

It must never be about scoring points, to feel good or to demonstrate one’s intellectual capacity. Else, we fail to capture the main purpose of teaching.

The “yin” and the “yang” approach

There should be a distinction between someone who commits a mistake when they are striving to learn, and those who err despite bearing knowledge.

The soft (yin) approach to correcting a person is for someone who is genuinely striving to learn.
