Captain of our own ship

“So when’s the wedding?” Sufian asked.

“Whoa. Slow down, dude. We barely know each other. Besides, it's just too early.” I almost choked on my coffee.

“Yup, sure thing. But a word of advice buddy. Move fast or the ship will sail.”

“What are you, a relationship guru now?”

Sufian let out a smile and we sat there, sipping our beverage in the small coffee shop just across my neighborhood. The place reeked of burnt coffee and stale furniture which he declares a fitting abode for night owls and the moonlighters.

And I set myself dazed and strung with my thoughts on what makes a good relationship.

Don’t enter a relationship just because everyone is in it

It occurs to me that when you go out there and think that that you have to find a spouse, you will indirectly act from a point of neediness.
